What is sweet, sour, and always is made with love? Tamarind Chile Paletas, of course! This frozen treat marries traditional ingredients that are found in Mexican-American candy, raspas (sno cones), and paletas. And—just like two peas in a tamarind pod—we believe the sweet and sour flavors in this Tamarind Chile Paleta are even better together!

  • 3 cups Water
  • 5 oz Tamarind Pods, shelled and root detached
  • ½ cup Light Agave Nectar
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder

  1. Place tamarind pods, agave nectar, chilli powder, and water in a pot and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.
  2. Let pods sit in water and stir frequently to remove and dissolve tamarind paste from pods. Strain liquid once all the tamarind paste has dissolved and place in paleta molds.
  3. Freeze overnight.
  4. Optional: Garnish with Tajin chile powder before serving.
