What is sweet, sour, and always is made with love? Tamarind Chile Paletas, of course! This frozen treat marries traditional ingredients that are found in Mexican-American candy, raspas (sno cones), and paletas. And—just like two peas in a tamarind pod—we believe the sweet and sour flavors in this Tamarind Chile Paleta are even better together!
Ingredients
- 3 cups Water
- 5 oz Tamarind Pods, shelled and root detached
- ½ cup Light Agave Nectar
- 1 tsp Chilli Powder
Directions
- Place tamarind pods, agave nectar, chilli powder, and water in a pot and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.
- Let pods sit in water and stir frequently to remove and dissolve tamarind paste from pods. Strain liquid once all the tamarind paste has dissolved and place in paleta molds.
- Freeze overnight.
- Optional: Garnish with Tajin chile powder before serving.
