Siete summer: Salsa-prep class

A virtual cooking class in support of World Central Kitchen.

Join the Siete family in supporting World Central Kitchen on Tuesday, August 18th from 6-7pm CT with a special Virtual Homemade Salsa Class.

Chef Andrés and Chef Scarleth of Siete’s Culinary and Innovation Team will lead us step-by-step in creating three tasty and vibrant salsas using fresh, simple ingredients, such as tomatillos, peaches, and roma tomatoes.

Mouth watering yet? We’ll also help you cool off with a Watermelon Mint Agua Fresca, which includes a margarita-style variation for the tequila lovers out there. All $10 ticket sales will benefit World Central Kitchen and their amazing efforts to deliver nutritious meals to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our chefs will also kick off the class with a Watermelon Mint Agua Fresca tutorial, with an option to make into a Watermelon Mint Margarita.

Your Siete Grain Free Tortilla Chips for each recipe will be sent complimentary with every ticket purchase made before August 10th. You’ll want to have a wide skillet (preferably cast iron) as well as a food processor or blender on hand.

Pro-Tip: We recommend preparing all of your ingredients ahead of time so you’ll have them ready-to-go to prepare your drinks and snacks alongside our chefs!

Pepita Tomatillo Salsa

  • 5 Tomatillos, husked
  • ½ White Onion, cut in half
  • 1 Garlic Clove, peeled
  • 3 Tablespoons Pepitas/ Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
  • 1 Serrano Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Distilled Vinegar
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Charred Peach Habanero Salsa

  • 2 Large Peaches
  • 1 Habanero Pepper
  • ¼ Red Onion
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 2 Limes, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
