Buñuelos are a traditional Mexican dessert that our family has been making for generations. In fact, one of our family’s most beloved holiday traditions is making large batches of buñuelos every year. They're sweet, cinnamon treats that make their way into our kitchens (and our bellies!) right around the holiday season. We have many childhood memories of our grandma and our great grandma rolling out tortillas, frying them up, and sprinkling cinnamon and sugar all over ‘em! The sweet aroma would fill our kitchen…and the entire house!
This is why it’s extra special to be able to share our very own grain free and gluten free version with you every year, so that everyone can participate in and experience this sweet tradition, no matter their dietary preferences. We’ve made our Grain Free Mini Buñuelos Cinnamon Crisps with a grain free cassava blend masa and sprinkled them with a coconut-sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla seasoning!
The holiday season brings our familia so much joy, and every year we celebrate with you by sharing a few of our favorite traditions (like buñuelos!). In the past, we’ve also shared embarrassing family photos, nostalgic recipes for favorites like arroz con leche and ponche caliente, and even recreated our favorite holiday movies (we’ve included one of our favorites below—extra points if you can spot the Buñuelos!)
During the holidays, we prioritize gathering with loved ones, remembering those who came before us, connecting with others, and honoring traditions. This year, we collaborated with a local ATX Latina artist, Carmen Rangel, to create limited-edition Mini Buñuelos packaging that reflects her holiday traditions, Mexican-American culture, and how extra special buñuelos are.
We always want our packaging to reflect that specialty and spread holiday cheer! So, today, we’re not only announcing the seasonal arrival of our Grain Free Mini Buñuelos, but we're taking a trip down memory lane (the "Memory Lane of Buñuelos Past," if you will).
