We started making grain free Mexican staples at Siete to bring our family back to the table. With the successful launch of three tortillas, we reimagined tacos and tostadas for a variety of diets and allergies. We were able to once again enjoy the foods we used to love.
But in Laredo, a dinner party is not complete without tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole. Having already made tortillas with chia and cassava and coconut flours, the next step was logical: we had to complete the meal and make snacking more inclusive and healthy by creating the most ridiculously delicious tortilla chips. (We also heard your comments, whispers, and over-enthusiastic shouts begging us to make some and wanted to deliver!)
And, against all odds, we may have actually done it! We aren't exactly unbiased, but these chips are really really freaking good. And they're dangerously addictive. Serving sizes have been known to go out the window when a bag opens in the office. (Not talking about you, John, we promise!)
These chips are powered by avocado oil, enriching them with beneficial fats and giving them a flavor that's both delicious solo and as the perfect partner to a delicious guacamole.
The initial release consists of three distinct flavors: Sea Salt, Nacho, and Lime. But all three are made with nutrient-dense, real food ingredients.
These should have been named Tortilla Chips: The Director's Cut. Our sister, Vero, made tortilla chips without any grains that taste better than any regular tortilla chip you've ever eaten. We were skeptical at first, too, but they're smooth and crispy and light and refreshing. Right when they pop out the oven, we make it rain with sea salt, so you can eat them straight out of the bag or with your favorite dip or salsa.
We searched all of Mexico to find the perfect nacho tree, and then we picked its tantalizing fruit for our Siete Nacho Tortilla Chips. Seriously, though, let's take a second to salute Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya, inventor of the eponymous Tex-Mex staple. Nacho, you rock!
At Siete, we're kinda like an Olympic gymnast who is going for gold, we like our routines to have a high degree of difficulty, so we made our delicious cheesy Nacho flavoring without using any dairy. That exercise was slightly harder than colonizing Mars and slightly easier than long division, but we did it. Stuck the landing!
For the seasoning blend, we spent hours in the kitchen getting the ratios just right and the final product is the perfect mixture of tangy, spicy, and cheesy. Smoked serrano and roasted garlic underlie the sophisticated savory flavor that provides the chips with an addictive depth. We met the nacho, gave her a makeover, and sent her to the serape-carpet in a dazzling red dress.
Everyone wants to go to paradise, but not everyone can get there. Thankfully, a bite of our lime infused chips will teleport a palm tree and a straw hat to your location. (Note: this was not replicable outside of our trip to the beach.) And even if they don't, the refreshing sensation of our tart lime seasoning will at least brighten your day. Our lime chips provide the ultimate tailgate or potluck one-up, as they are both the ideal partner to any guacamole and an undeniably zesty solo act.
Now all that's left to do is open a bag, take a bite, take another bite, take another bite, take another bite...oh, were we supposed to leave you with a succinct, yet wholesome ending? Sorry, got distracted there for a second. Anyway, we can't wait for you to dive into a bag of Siete Foods Grain Free Tortilla Chips and take back the snack.
