Backyard Asada!

A backyard asada is much like a backyard barbecue.

Family, friends, and neighbors come together to kick their feet back and connect, jam out to great music and sip on cold beverages, and enjoy a delicious meal straight off the grill.

Backyard asadas are core to our Mexican-American culture and one of our favorite ways to gather.

Some of our best memories are centered and formed around the grill! Boisterous laughs echo down our street while smoke rises from the grill, carrying the aroma of fresh proteins and vegetables. The sound of cumbias and Selena’s music roars through our speakers.

At a backyard asada, more is more!

The backyard gate remains propped open all night long, so that neighbors and tías and tíos can arrive one after the other—sometimes bringing snacks, appetizers, rice, beans, drinks, plates, cups, games, you name it. It's always the best when they end up kicking back and sticking around all night.

A backyard asada is more than just a gathering, it’s a celebration of culture, community, and comida.

We stay by the grill all night to snag tastes of fresh fajita as family takes it off the grill, and we share seats to make space for everyone at the table. As we walk in and out of the house, each time smelling more like mesquite smoke than the last, we enjoy chips and salsa and agua fresca. And when the food is ready, we enjoy our meal—knowing we'll have leftovers for days to come, and of course, gather to do it all over again next week!

We continue this beautiful, nostalgic, joyful, and casual tradition of inviting everyone to gather together at our backyard asadas because

¡Juntos es Mejor!
