Our 2022 Juntos Fund Recipients - Sietefoods.com

Our Juntos Fund, which translates to “Together Fund," is a yearly opportunity for us to support Latinx businesses. This year, we selected three separate taquerias as our 2022 Juntos Fund recipients! Our family was wowed by these amazing restaurants: Nana’s Taqueria, La Santa Barbacha, and Chilte Tacos.

Each of these taquerias showed not only a passion for making delicious food, but also a passion for building authentic community and sharing pieces of their culture and their story with others. If you find yourself near any of these restaurants, we’d highly recommend you give them a try! Read more about their stories below.

Nana's Taqueria

Nana’s Taqueria is family-owned and located in Weslaco, Texas. For 12 years, the Treviño family has put their heart and soul into this taqueria, and it shows. The result: a delicious menu of tacos, lonches, and dishes inspired by their hometown; a beautiful and warm space that showcases Mexico’s culture, and caters to every occasion; and a community that gathers, supports, and celebrates together like a family. Inspired by their own journey, they’ve got big plans to continue sharing their Mexican culture, and we are excited to support them as they do.

Q: What is your company mission statement?

A: Our mission is to share the vibrance and joy of our heritage, one taco at a time! We believe everyday is a celebration. We are driven by our love for spreading our Mexican culture in an authentic way with our community.

La Santa Barbacha

La Santa Barbacha is an impressive example of a family working together, intentionally bringing their traditions, culture, and stories to the Austin food scene through barbacoa. We commend the siblings behind La Santa Barbacha for their hustle in building their business in honor of their parents, and we admire their passion for sharing “foods that their mom would make—that they would eat, that their kids and babies could eat” with the Austin community.

Q: What is your company mission statement?

A: We are cooking food with love and respect to our family, country, and our culture. We want to share our culture and traditions through our cuisine—cooking barbacoa and elevating Mexican food.

Chilte Phoenix

We love Chilte’s vision of creating a space where people can feel at home—from guests who have come to try their ‘modern Mexican cuisine,’ to employees who have come to learn and grow in a supportive working environment. As multicultural founders, they appreciate the beauty of things not being fully one thing or the other, which is reflected in their delicious and innovative menu. We cannot wait to see them turn their food truck into a brick and mortar and share their culture with the community in Phoenix, Arizona and beyond.

Q: What is your company mission statement?

A: We strive to inspire a new culture in the culinary industry. Sourcing locally, cooking from the heart, mentoring one another, and building a community through food.
