Step 1
In a slow cooker, add pork and ½ cup of water. Cook on low setting for 6-7 hours. -
Step 2
Once the meat is cooked, reserve ½ cup of cooking liquid, and drain the rest. -
Step 3
Add carnitas seasoning packet to the meat with ½ cup of cooking liquid. Mix well. -
Step 4
For crispy carnitas, spread the seasoned filling over a sheet tray, and broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes or until crispy. You can alternatively crisp up the meat in a cast iron pan. -
Step 5
Preheat a separate cast iron skillet over medium heat. -
Step 6
Heat each corn tortilla for 10-15 seconds per side. Fill each tortilla with the cooked pork and sprinkle with diced onion and chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges and Jalapeño Botana Sauce to taste!
