We'll see your fried pickles and raise you Fried Pickled Jalapeños and Carrots. This spiced spin on fried pickles is an appetizer you can bet on for your next BBQ or carne asada! We used cassava flour and mixed in some of our Siete Traditional Hot Sauce to create a flavorful batter for those in our familia who prefer to gamble with a little spice!
1 can Sliced Pickled Jalapeños & Carrots
1 ⅛ cup Cassava Flour
2 cups Carbonated Water
1 tbsp Siete Traditional Hot Sauce
½ tsp Sea Salt
¼ tsp Black Pepper
½ tbsp Dried Cilantro
Oil for frying
½ cup dairy free Yogurt
¼ cup Mayonnaise
1 tbsp Fresh Dill, chopped
1 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
½ Lemon, juiced
½ tsp Garlic Powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Drain jalapeños and carrots over paper towels. Combine cassava flour, carbonated water, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and cilantro in a bowl and whisk.
Heat oil to 375F. Dip each jalapeño and carrot piece in batter and fry until crispy (about 5-8 minutes).
Whisk together all ingredients for dipping sauce and serve alongside fried jalapeños and carrots.
